Hi people who may read my livejournal: I'm going to Seattle with Kirsten from December 16-26th. Would any of you Western Washingtonians like to get together? From the 26th onward, there is the possibility of a Michigan visit. Will any of you Mid-Michiganders be getting together around that time? |

| radio too |
[Dec. 9th, 2009|03:24 pm] |
Oh, I'm gonna be on the radio tonight on 89fm, too. Pretty exciting. I have butterflies in my stomach right now. I have to leave to go record it in 15 minutes! I hope my voice is on tonight. Some days it's not so hot. most days. haha. what's he gonna ask me? what shall I sing?? so many questions! nervousness! It's only 89fm, and there will probably be like 10 people listening, but still. I'm all nervous.
I'm giddy all day. The City Pulse article and the radio appearance, and birthdays and etc etc, got me all giddy. I am also very sweaty. with stinky pits. That's what happens when I get excited. p.u.! haha. I'm gonna make the impact's studio smell like b.o.
Ken is driving me up a wall this week. All week he has been listening to this chanting music, like monks or choir men or something, chanting, very slow, echoey and low. It's irritating beyond measure!! And it's not like he plays it quietly at his desk. No. He BLASTS it. And now, for the first time all week, he has changed his music. What is it now? CHRISTMAS music. Opera style. YUCK! ahhh!!! And the shitty part is, my music is still playing over the loud speakers but I cannot hear it because ken's desk is next to mine. Hey, I suppose it's fair because we almost always have on my music, but it's driving me fucking insane!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I need to repent or something!!! too many priests!!!
My birthday party was only a minor success since Dark Horse doesn't update its website like it should (btw, NOW it's updated). It said they closed at 10pm, but they actually closed at 8pm on Sundays - new winter hours! So yeah. We got there super late because we misjudged a few things, and then only had enough time for one beer and had to leave and find another place to go. The place we went was decent, but it was no Dark Horse. So I was a little bummed. But whatever, it's the company that matters, and a bunch of people made it out and we had a grand ol time.
The actual day of birth, however, was spent differently. Corey and I went to Maru, a new sushi place in Okemos for lunch. It was great! And they gave me a free mochi dessert! nice! Then we hung out at home and my dad, Jo, Brandy and Steve came over. We then played a somewhat awkward round of The Newlywed Game (hahaha with my Dad!) and then they left and we played a less awkward round of it. It was fun. Good relaxing b-day.
Well... I killed enough time here. I should be going to the radio station now. eeee!! |

You know you're in Hyde Park when, in the span of five minutes on a walk in the bitter cold to Jimmy John's you: almost have snot rocketed onto your shoe by a homeless man; hear a beautiful melodious saxophone drifting up from a basement apartment; get out of the way on the sidewalk for four jogging girls debating cultural definitions of "the supernatural." |

I ate a whole lobster for Thanksgiving. It was delicious.
What a nice five-day break I had. I like when I don't have a lot to do. It makes me think. A girl that I just met told me I would look a lot better with side-swept bangs. I learned how to play and sing "Dark End of the Street" Flying Burrito Bros style and I really love it. It's a beautiful song. We are gonna attempt to cover it in the country band. And we have a show on Dec 22 at Mac's opening for Flatfoot, of all bands. Kinda nervous! We don't even have a name yet. Andy suggested The Country Band, and I am not into that. It makes me think of comedy and mooks. Unfortunately we don't have any other ideas.... yet.
Not much to tell ya. I'm having my birthday party at Dark Horse on Sunday and I hope you all can come, even if you live 800 miles away. :) |
